Nonmotorized Transportation Working Group

The NMTWG advocates the creation and funding a safe, direct network of bicycle and pedestrian facilities through the region. State and local government representatives, bicycle, greenway and pedestrian organizations and advocates come together to coordinate their work through this group. The group reviews bicycle and pedestrian plans, programs and policies to advise WILMAPCO staff, committees, and Council. Meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m. in February, April, June, August, October and December and are open to the public.

    Bike Delaware will provide a recap about their recent Intersection Design event.
  • Route 9 Paths Plan— Jake Thompson, WILMAPCO
    Update on outreach and draft recommendations for pedestrian and bicycle connections near the Rt 9 corridor.
  • Grant Updates – New Castle County:
    • Trail Amenity Grant ProgramMary Roth/Adam Crosby, Delaware Greenways
      Presentation about grant program for improvements by members of the Future Trails of Northern Delaware Coalition. Applications due by January 31, 2021.
    • Transportation Alternatives ProgramHeather Dunigan, WILMAPCO
      WILMAPCO is seeking TAP applications for projects within New Castle County. Applications due January 15.
