WILMINGTON AREA PLANNING COUNCIL PARTNERS WITH YOU IN TRANSPORTATION PLANNING

In 1999, Scenic America named the Kennett Pike one of 12 "Last Chance Landscapes" because its scenic and historic value is under threat from sprawling land development and increasing traffic. New Castle County and DelDOT have pledged to work to preserve this historic area.

The Corridor Management Plan lays out the vision, goals and responsibilities for conserving and enhancing the corridor’s valuable qualities. It includes a strategy to balance concerns for resources in the area with the visitor’s opportunity to experience the corridor and describes how this will benefit economic development through tourism and recreational opportunities.
